Grandma, whats the difference between a ghost and a spirit?
Grandma Teilas hand didnt pause its stroking as she thought on her granddaughters question. She had known that Tristi would ask something similar to this, after her mothers death.
Do you remember the difference between the Herrod, the Sentient Races, and the Cailoch, the Lesser Brothers?
Grandma Teila felt Tristis head nod.
Only the Herrod have souls, only they can become a ghost, or a spirit, because a ghost is the soul of a Herrod that either cannot, or will not, go on to the next reality.
A spirit is the soul of a Herrod that has been sent back to protect, warn, or help us in some way. Of the two, Spirits should be listened to, but ghosts can only be pitied.
" Pitied Grandma? Why pity them when they cause so much trouble?
Ghosts have no hope. The lives they have lived here condemns them in the next, so they refuse to move on. Some are held here by the will of the Death Prince.
Grandma Teila continued stroking Tristis head. Time passes and she feels the wet warmth of Tristis tears soaking through her skirt. Her granddaughters heart would mend, her mother had known where Death would take her and she had not been afraid.
Though there was always the possibility that she would come back to watch over them.

This next artist isn't bad either. Not too many submissions over time, but still good works.
